I would like to thank my entire team at Bibendum Wine Co. whose hard work, dedication and shared passion helps to keep me fired up. My mother, who always encouraged me to read and to write. Neil Beckett at The World of Fine Wine who was willing to publish articles on Champagne that were certain to challenge at least some of his readership, not to mention other contributors and advertisers; these articles were the starting point of this book. All the great growers and winemakers with whom I work and who have been a constant source of education and inspiration. Especially the artist, the rock, the teacher, the monk (and Sophie!) and the farmer. You are the reason this book exists.
